Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram described the Sammakka–Saralamma Maha Jatara as the country’s largest tribal festival and a major congregation of tribal communities. They were received by ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) and Adluri Laxman Kumar at the temple entrance. He also recalled his long association with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during their tenure in Parliament. Mr. Kishan Reddy said the Centre and the State were jointly undertaking development works in the region, including ₹80 crore for tourism development in the Mulugu district. Mr. Kishan Reddy said the Sammakka–Saralamma Jatara attracted lakhs of devotees from across the country over several weeks and was the biggest festival of tribal communities.
