Kerala Budget 2026-27: AI city, Cochin Cancer Centre among projects to receive allocations

A proposal for developing an integrated public transport system, an artificial intelligence city, Cochin Cancer Centre, Kochi technology innovation zone, and the Kochi-Muziris heritage project were among the major Kochi-based projects mentioned in the State Budget.
The Cochin technology innovation zone has been allotted ₹20 crore, while the Muziris heritage project and spices route project have been allocated ₹14 crore.
A feasibility study for an oceanarium project in the Kochi-Vypeen area will be undertaken, with ₹1 crore allocated for the purpose.
A Beypore Uru tourism project and a Kochi heritage project have been announced, with an allocation of ₹5 crore.
Ernakulam is also one of the three districts identified for a public hostel scheme for students of government colleges, with ₹10 crore allocated collectively for preliminary activities.
