The Mets' TV broadcast network SNY posted a meme back on Aug. 28 stating that they wouldn't be coming for the NL Wild Card, but the NL East title instead. This came just after the Mets swept the Phillies for three games in Queens to trim the division lead down to four. The Phillies, on the other hand, have gone an MLB-best 11-3 and capped it off with a four-game sweep of the Mets. With 29 games to play, the Mets were just four games back in the NL East and 4.5 games up in the NL Wild Card. The Phillies were actually once chasing the Mets in the NL East.
