Two automated speed enforcement cameras installed on Joseph Street, north of Isabella Street, are anticipated to go live on Sept. 15. That’s according to Municipal Bylaw Enforcement Officer Allison Kreuger, who says the cameras were installed in an attempt slow down excessive speeding in the area. “Over half of those vehicles are exceeding the speed limit, which is 40 km/h, by at least 20 km/h. Municipal Law Enforcement Officers at the centre will review the images and information captured by the cameras and issue tickets by mail within 23 days of the occurrence. According to officials, tickets are issued to the registered owner of the vehicle, regardless of who was operating the vehicle at the time.
