The current 5-Series arrived for the 2024 model year and, in keeping with BMW tradition, should receive a mid-cycle refresh—or Life Cycle Impulse (as BMW calls it)—for the 2028 model year. This means the updated 5-Series will likely debut sometime in 2027. It's possible that the plug-in hybrid and electric variants will benefit from the latest electric motor and battery technology debuting in the Neue Klasse lineup.
