More infoBrits are preparing for a dramatic weather change as forecasts predict a burst of summer-like warmth following several days of persistent rain.
However, this unsettled period appears set to make way for a wave of warm air, pushing temperatures up to a possible 25°C on Saturday, 4 October.
Weather maps show that the southeast, including London, Luton, and surrounding areas, will enjoy the highest temperatures, potentially hitting the mid-20s.
Meanwhile, the Midlands and parts of Wales will also experience the heat, with temperatures between 22C and 24C.
In contrast, northern England, Scotland, and much of Ireland are expected to stay cooler, with temperatures ranging from 14C to 18C.
