The City of Cape Town has teamed up with The Litterboom Project to tackle the rubbish invasion choking its rivers and canals. Thanks to City funding, eight new litterbooms now stretch across Cape Town’s rivers, blocking trash before it sneaks into the ocean. Thankfully, the project goes beyond pulling plastic from rivers and dumping it all in a landfill. With river wardens on duty, plastic is finally getting its eviction notice.
