If ‘true’, each competitor is allowed three skims, and stones must bounce at least twice on the water before sinking. Dr Kyle Mathews told BBC News, “There was a little bit of stone doctoring.”“They had shaped it so that it was perfectly circular and fitted our three-inch measurer. The cheating tossers were, however, forthcoming about their cheating, according to Dr Matthews, who said that they had “held their hands up” and apologised. From a long line of stone skippers, Jennings told the crowd of reporters gathered for the event that he always knew skipping stones would lead to glory.
