[Image: V&A Waterfront / Facebook]The Oranjezicht Market, a community farmers-style market for independent local farmers and artisanal food producers, is set for a relaunch at its new V&A Waterfront location this October.
The market supports more than forty local farmers and attracts close to half a million visitors each year.
The Oranjezicht Market is moving as part of the Waterfront’s massive R20 billion development and expansion project, but the V&A Waterfront has now unveiled a newly constructed wooden shed designed by ward-winning architects StudioMAS.
During a walkabout tour of the new location, V&A Waterfront’s CEO, David Green, said that the market has consistently ranked in the top 10 farmers’ markets in the world, “which is a really big thing”.
Green explained that before the launch at the new location, they are looking at doing one last night market at the old location.
