Prince Edward County is once again shining the spotlight on the state of County Road 49. County staff add in a statement today that in 1998, the province passed over the responsibility to the municipality. Officials are encouraging people to share their views about the road on the online platform, Have Your Say. The Ontario government set aside close to $20 million dollars earlier this year, from the Housing-Enabling Core Servicing Fund, to the County Road 49 fund. Prince Edward County Council signed off on using $7.8 million dollars from the 2024 budget to go towards County Road 49.
