We’ve seen fire and we’ve seen rain from the New York Mets during their ongoing 8-game losing streak. The rain is from the tears shed by fans who thought this was a legitimate contender only a few months ago. A fake one is well-deserved for one of the newest members of the Mets roster, Brandon Sproat. Although two games into his big league career, Sproat deserves a chance to take a sledgehammer to a chair if he so chooses. His 6 shutout innings on Saturday against the Texas Rangers should’ve been enough to make him the hero who stopped the bleeding.
