Troy Downing will bestow on his constituency his fourth “telephone town hall” since he took office in January. Downing is in full re-election mode after recently receiving Donald Trump’s “complete and total endorsement” in no small part because he has been a complete and total acolyte for the president’s direct orders to the House GOP. Right now, Downing is crowing on national conservative cable channels about his sponsorship of H.J.R. The resolution, passed on a four-vote margin, does not have the effect of law; it is only a sentiment of the House GOP majority but sets the tone. Lots of questions to ask – so little time.
