Grace Zozobrado-Hahn of Palawan NGO Koberwitz 1924 reflects on the important lessons local organizations have learned after Typhoon Odette. The Civil Society Organization Coordination funded by UNOCHA was an unexpected opportunity for us, as an organization with limited humanitarian response experience. UNOCHA (United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) provided an emergency cash grant to showcase the localization of humanitarian leadership which supported government agencies, local CSOs (civil society organizations), and vulnerable households.
