The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp it was alerted to the fire at Block 411B Fernvale Road at about 6.30am. Stomper Julie, a resident at the affected block, told Stomp she wanted to spread awareness about fire safety. "According to the town council, the fire started from the 10th floor electrical riser and burnt upwards affecting residents up to 16 floors. "I want to remind Stompers not to store things in electrical risers otherwise, the fire will spread faster.
