Contra Costa County has been awarded $43.7 million in state funds to establish the Delta Recovery Center, a new treatment facility in East Contra Costa that will expand access to critical behavioral health services. The funding is part of a $98 million grant and comes from California’s Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program, a multi-year state initiative funded through Proposition 1 to improve behavioral healthcare infrastructure. The Delta Recovery Center is one of three projects in the county. Together, these centers will address the shortage of behavioral treatment beds in Contra Costa County, particularly in East County, where residents face long waits and must often travel far for care. “This investment allows us to strengthen the entire continuum of behavioral healthcare in Contra Costa County,” said Contra Costa Health Director Grant Colfax.
