Uttlesford Council is proposing to introduce the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), a standardised charge on new developments designed to help fund improvements to public services and facilities. The proposed timeline includes finalising the CIL charging schedule in winter 2025, submitting it for examination in early 2026, and adopting it later that spring. Once the CIL Charging Schedule is in effect, Uttlesford Council will become a CIL charging authority. The council will consider all feedback before finalising the CIL charging schedule.
