The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared Professor Alidu Mahama Seidu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the Member of Parliament-elect for Tamale Central, after he emerged the sole candidate in the constituency’s by-election. Initially, Prof. Seidu faced competition from the People’s National Convention (PNC) and the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG). With the window closed and no challenger in sight, the NDC candidate was officially declared winner without a vote being cast. He emphasized that Prof. Seidu is committed to fulfilling his promises and advancing progress in Tamale Central. The MP-elect is expected to be sworn into Parliament in the coming days to begin his duties.
