Is that something that’s going to be useful in your new role at ALA? Book bans and proposed book bans come from a small subset of the same people over and over again, so I would never say there's this pandemic of book bans. In a lot of communities, there were candidates running who really ran on an agenda of book bans. Researchers have said pretty clearly that book bans, particularly school book bans, are part of an effort to build mistrust of libraries, of public education. The end point is every school should have a richly resourced school library for its students.
