- Advertisement -A trial began yesterday before Justice Ann Marie Smith involving allegations of sexual assault against a 12-year-old girl that allegedly occurred in December 2021. The complainant, now off-island, testified virtually about incidents that allegedly took place at the home of her mother’s friend where she was spending the weekend. According to the victim, she had minimal communication with the accused, saying they would exchange “good morning” and “simple stuff.”The complainant testified that on the morning of the alleged incident, while she was sleeping when the accused entered her room. After they exchanged morning greetings, he left the room and she returned to sleep. When she woke up and asked what he was doing, she said he told her to “just cool” and walked out.
