Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Lisborn Michael said that the program has contributed to a notable decrease in youth violence across Antigua and Barbuda. “Around this time last year, youth violence was at its highest peak, and we have seen a significant change, in the decrease of those incidents of youth violence,” Michael told attendees. “The Youth Intervention Police ‘End It How’ Program is an important initiative which is dedicated to ending violence, drug abuse, and crime in our communities,” Morgan said. He also addressed the broader community about the concept of “youth violence,” arguing that adults must set better examples. Officials announced plans to expand the program’s reach and deepen collaboration between the Community Policing Program and the Youth Intervention Unit.
