Council meets with police to discuss 'growing concerns' around antisocial crimes
['Molly Kirk']
Burnham and Highbridge Weekly News | News
On September 4, Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town councillors met with representatives from the police to address their worries surrounding anti-social behaviour, theft, vandalism and unauthorised traveller encampments in the area.
It was explained that there are nine officers for the area comprising Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge and Cheddar (including PCSO’s), and, according to police, sickness and annual leave have resulted in shortages.
By reporting incidents, shop owners and residents play a key role in shaping safer towns for everyone."
The council and police will continue to work closely together and explore further measures to address these challenges.
All shop owners are encouraged to use Scheme Link to report thefts and suspicious activity.
