Digby, who works as a specialist defusing dog for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, has been put forward for a BBC Radio Devon ‘Make a Difference’ award. As a fully-fledged member of staff, complete with his own ID badge, Digby can be found at stations and sites across Somerset or Devon, or at the Devon and Somerset Service Headquarters in Exeter, where he regularly makes the rounds to lift spirits and connect with colleagues. Being shortlisted for a ‘Make a Difference’ award is a fitting recognition of the comfort and support he continues to bring to so many. Winners for the BBC Radio Devon ‘Make a Difference Award’ have been selected by a panel of judges at the radio station, and we’ll find whether Digby has been successful at a special award ceremony later this week.
