Highbridge man handed suspended sentence for sexual offences involving a child

Peter Nex, of Watchfield, Highbridge, was sentenced at Taunton Crown Court on September 16.
He pleaded guilty to:Adult attempt to engage in sexual communication with a childAttempt to cause / incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activityThe offences took place in North Petherton in February 2024.

Nex was ordered to partake in a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 35 days and asked to complete 250 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay a £187 surcharge, handed a requirement to register with the police for ten years and given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
