Thanks to Michiana's warmer than normal temperatures hanging on through this month, there's still time to see many kinds of butterflies. Specifically, the monarch butterflies in town are in no hurry to start their migration. Fuller credited our warm temperatures and a southerly wind for keeping these "meteorologist" monarch butterflies in Michiana longer than normal. "There's no safe place to land over open water," Fuller described. If you've got an easterly wind, the butterflies actually stack up against the lake like leaves against a fence.
