Inmate at SJC jail suffers drug overdose, jail on lockdown during investigation

ABC 57ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Police Department reports the St. Joseph County Jail is on lockdown following the drug overdose of an inmate on Saturday. Police say around 6 p.m. Saturday, fellow inmates alerted staff to the medical emergency. Staff located the inmate, a 46-year-old man, experiencing a drug overdose. Officers and medical staff immediately began life-saving measures.
