The recordings were made on June 2nd and 3rd, 1977, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Charles Mingus’ album, The Lost Album from Ronnie Scott’s, that captured a performance from 1972 was released in 2022 by Resonance records [read my review here]. Charles MIngus’ European tours are well documented, but until In Argentina: The Buenos Aires Concerts, nothing official had been released from his 1977 South American tour. We also have live performances of compositions contemporaneous to the Buenos Aires concerts.
