Brighton and Hove City Council is urging residents to recycle more of these commonly discarded items during Recycle Week, which runs from September 22 to 28. The campaign encourages people to 'rescue' recyclable materials from their general waste and put them in the correct recycling bins. "Here in Brighton & Hove, we want to make it easy and convenient for residents to recycle. Residents can now recycle plastic pots, tubs and trays, such as yoghurt pots, margarine tubs, fruit punnets and ready meal trays. The council reminds residents to remove plastic film from containers before recycling, as it cannot be processed.
