Among them was Maisy Blair, who earned a first-class degree in BA (Hons) Primary Teaching and has secured a teaching position at a primary school in Gosport. Ms Blair said: "I'm overwhelmed but relieved it's done and I can finally say I'm a grad." Another graduate, Dominic Merrington, completed a BA (Hons) Sociology after taking part in the university’s Adversity to University bridging module, a 12-week programme to help people access higher education. "I received my highest academic mark, an 85, which genuinely blew me away and felt like a great note to finish my academic career on." In addition to the student awards, seven honorary degrees were presented to individuals recognised for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.
