Saltdean Lido hosts Dogtember, a series of weekends where dogs and their owners can swim there, every year. Organiser Jules Shepherd said 1,569 dogs were booked in to swim while 160 golden retrievers took part at the event on Sunday, September 21. More sessions are set to take place this weekend, between September 27 and 28, with specific breed slots for spaniels, Labradors, huskies, malamutes, poodles and golden retrievers. It was saved by a community campaign which led to the founding of the Saltdean Lido CIC.
