Logic and common sense won over nostalgia at the Soddy Daisy commission meeting Thursday night when it voted to move the 911 dispatch services to Hamilton County. Hamilton County has 30-50 dispatchers and will add another nine to handle calls from Soddy Daisy. There are 11 on the board and they are representatives from other municipalities and departments with just one member from Hamilton County 911. Hamilton County 911 will loan the radios used by the Soddy Daisy firefighters until the city can replace them. Commissioner Travis Beene talked to other surrounding municipalities that use Hamilton County 911 dispatchers to gauge their satisfaction with the service.
