The Chattanooga Airport is growing and is in the process of improving the facility to accommodate the increases. And on Jan. 6 United has announced it will begin nonstop service to Newark five days a week. The increase in passengers will need an increase in parking, and a new, second parking garage is being built. The airport already has one 14-person van from the time a shuttle service was used in 2019, and the board approved purchasing a second one. The current parking system has been used 11 years and equipment is now failing and needs to be replaced.
