A Calhoun, Ga., man was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Tuesday for attempting to kill his girlfriend. Chamlee pled guilty to attempted murder after stabbing his girlfriend multiple times inside Roses department store in Dalton. During sentencing, two witnesses from the victim’s family testified before Judge Poston, and the victim submitted a written letter that was read in court. DA Kenemer did not have a recommendation in the case and only presented the evidence in aggravation to Judge Poston. Judge Poston had to determine whether any portion of that sentence would be under probation.
