City Councilman Ron Elliott said a resolution in support of the United Auto Workers in contract talks with Chattanooga Volkswagen will be withdrawn at next Tuesday's council meeting. Councilman Dennis Clark said he still supports the UAW, but he said it was decided that the council should not get involved in "private business matters." Chattanooga VW officials recently made an offer to the union.
