BASSETERRE: The Ministry of Health has confirmed the identification of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) cases at two pre-schools in the Early Childhood Sector in St. Kitts.
To control the spread of the infection, the Ministry of Health is working closely with the Ministry of Education and has provided affected schools with guidelines on infection prevention and control.
The Ministry of Health calls on the public to maintain good hygiene practices and report suspected cases to school administrators or local health authorities promptly.
This proactive response highlights the government’s commitment to safeguarding public health and the wellbeing of children throughout St. Kitts and Nevis.
Residents are reminded that with communal awareness, vigilance, and adherence to recommended hygiene practices, the spread of HFMD can be effectively managed and minimized.
