The Rumford Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that took place Monday night after a 17-year-old male from Mexico, Maine, allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian. First responders arrived and pronounced Mark Mccollough, 66, of Hillside Avenue, Rumford, dead at the scene. Police are working to identify the cause of the crash and have not yet revealed whether they believe the driver was at fault. Based on the comments under the police department’s Facebook press release, Mccollough appears to have been a well-known and loved member of the Rumford community.
