There are five foot guards regiments: The Grenadier Guards, The Coldstream Guards, The Scots Guards, The Irish Guards and the Welsh Guards. The Grenadier Guards is the most senior regiment of the Guards Division and, as such, is the most senior regiment of infantry. Although in combat operations the Guards Regiments are still a male preserve, you will see female musicians on parade in bearskins for the foot guards and female troopers in busbies in the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery.
