HUNDREDS of Ontario emergency room physicians have signed an open letter to State Premier Doug Ford demanding that the province increase the pay of critical-care nurses and repeal Bill 124. Nurses across the province say that Bill 124 is interfering with their ability to collectively bargain and acquire the pay increases they feel they deserve. ‘The government must repeal Bill 124. They’ve done nothing to help us in that way whatsoever.’Gwynn noted that Bill 124 takes aim at capping certain federal positions, ones which are mostly staffed by women. ‘We need people who are considering other professions to say, “you know, health care, that’s where I want to be”.
