At least six officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) have been dismissed after testing positive for illicit drug use during a recent round of random drug tests conducted in Bomi County. On Monday, September 1, 2025, the newly appointed Officer in Charge of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitzgerald Biago, announced the immediate launch of compulsory nationwide drug testing for all officers. However, when tests were conducted in Bomi County recently, six officers, including Larwou Yekeh, were found to be positive. “It is with deep disappointment that we inform the public that six officers assigned in Bomi County tested positive for illicit drug abuse,” Biago said. “These officers are hereby discharged from all services of the LDEA with immediate effect.
