TehMonrovia, Liberia; September 23, 2025 – The visiting team from the United States Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), led by Madam Carrie Monahan, Managing Director for Africa, has praised Liberia as a strong partner for growth and development. The First CompactLiberia’s first MCC compact, implemented between 2016 and 2021, brought significant benefits to the country, focusing on rehabilitating the Mt. Coffee Hydropower Plant, strengthening the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), and reforming key institutions to promote transparency and accountability in governance. We are hopeful that this mission leads to better outcomes for our people.”He emphasized that when Liberia receives the compact, it’s for everyone, not a particular set of people.
