Police investigating after mail stolen from 6 USPS mailboxes in Fort Lee, New JerseyFORT LEE, New Jersey (WABC) -- Police are investigating after they discovered mail was stolen from at least six United States Postal Service mailboxes in Fort Lee. Officers responding to a call about a blue USPS mailbox left open on Lemoine Avenue on Sunday morning noticed mail was missing and decided to check other locations. They found a similar scene at 309 Main Street, 1213 Anderson Avenue, 1475 Bergen Boulevard, 231 Main Street and Abbot Boulevard near Columbia Avenue. Detectives are also asking Fort Lee residents if they used any of the impacted mailboxes after 3 p.m. Saturday to monitor their bank accounts if any their mail contained financial information. If any fraud or theft is noticed, residents are also asked to contact the Fort Lee Police Department to file a police report.
