Rachel Chambers appointed Queensland Farmers’ commissioner

The Queensland Government has appointed Rachel Chambers as the Queensland Food Farmers' Commissioner for a three-year term beginning 27 October 2025.
Chambers is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers and previously served as Mayor of the North Burnett Regional Council from 2016 to 2021.
© QFVGThe role of the Queensland Food Farmers' Commissioner is to support farmers in operating within a competitive market and to act as a point of contact on issues affecting the sector.
The position also provides advice to help strengthen relationships between farmers and supermarkets, while contributing to broader agricultural policy discussions.
"I am confident she will provide strong leadership, connection, and advocacy across industry, to government, and for Queensland primary producers," Perrett said.
