Bus driver swerved onto footpath, killing teen, to avoid stationary cars
['William Davis']
WA Today - National
The Brisbane bus driver who hit and killed a teenage girl last year told police he swerved onto a busy CBD footpath to avoid cars sitting stationary in peak-hour traffic when his vehicle wouldn’t slow down.
Lindsay Francis Selby sat expressionless as graphic footage of the bus ploughing into the Anzac Square Arcade building on March 8, 2024, was played on repeat from different angles in a Brisbane courtroom on Tuesday.
Tia Cameron, 18, was pinned between the bus and the wall of the building and died at the scene.
Tia Cameron was remembered by her family as caring and loving, and they said she had plans to study and travel the world with her boyfriend.
