A lot of times product managers assume that just because they are in an Individual Contributor (IC) role, that means they need to focus only on their immediate areas - things that yield positive outcomes in projects and initiatives that are directly related to one’s line of work. For example, if a peer sends out a specification document for review to the team, spend some time reading through the document and trying to better understand what they are building. This also ties in to building a network across teams, and having an understanding of how your product impacts others.
