In May 2021 Thomas Ptacek published a Fly’s Prometheus Metrics blog post about fly-proxy, Borgmon, Prometheus, Thanos and, of course, Vicky (that’s how they call VictoriaMetrics :-)). It contains a lot of things: how Prometheus replaced Nagios and Icinga for Kubernetes and applications monitoring; scalability issues with Prometheus; experience of running Thanos in production; comparison of Cortex and VictoriaMetrics architectures; the cost benefits of switching to VictoriaMetrics in the end.
