While most of the time Mimir’s disk IO remains quite low and almost 2x times lower than for VictoriaMetrics, every 2h Mimir starts creating a TSDB block and consumes additional disk resources. In VictoriaMetrics and Mimir, ingested time series are evenly sharded across components (vmstorage and ingester respectively). In the bonus round of benchmark, I’ll test only VictoriaMetrics, because increase of the load for Mimir starts to result into OOM exceptions on ingesters.
