To get ahead in the deadly race for food, many Palestinians arrive at the GHF sites long before dawn. There are only three GHF aid points, compared to 400 that existed when the UN was distributing aid. Across Gaza, Palestinians were being killed seeking aid in the year before GHF arrived at an average rate of 30 per month. He says his unit did not kill Palestinians seeking food aid "by luck". It says it's learned lessons after "civilian harm was reported" at aid sites and that "updated instructions were passed to[its] forces".
