Will NobleCable Street: Musical About Anti-Fascist Protestors Returns To London Early 2026Critically-acclaimed musical Cable Street returns to London early in 2026. On its London debut in 2024, Cable Street — a musical set around 1936's Battle of Cable Street, in which a diverse community of East Enders faced-off Oswald Mosley's fascists — won critical, and popular, acclaim. Its first Southwark Playhouse staging selling out, Cable Street returned later in the year, the Guardian praising its "Hamilton-like hip-hop-ish commentary... witty Sondheim-homage... [and] Mel Brooks' ridiculing of the far right." The swell of far right sentiment oozing through the western world at that moment galvanised the show — making it all the more vital. Cable Street, Marylebone Theatre, 16 January-28 February 2026.
