The girl was allegedly attacked with a pencil by another classmate at St Philomena’s School in Moree in New South Wales, Australia, on September 17. ‌The girl's mum, Eliza, told NewsWire that she needed treatment from paramedics at the school and that she was "covered in blood." She said: "My biggest fear is that she would become disengaged from school and have her education affected.”‌Armidale Catholic Schools, of which St Philomena’s School is part of, released a statement confirming that it was "managing" the incident. The school also confirmed that the child who allegedly stabbed the young girl will be “kept out” of the school until appropriate procedures had been followed.
