The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdulaziz, has passed away.
According to the Royal Court, the revered sheikh died on Tuesday morning.
SPONSOR ADSheikh Abdulaziz was born in Mecca in November 1943 and served as head of the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, and the Supreme Council of the Muslim World LeagueHe was the third Grand Mufti, after Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Shaikh and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Baz.
The Royal Court added that King Salman and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman offered their condolences to the late Sheikh’s family, Saudi people and the Muslim world.
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz has also ordered that a funeral prayer be held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the Prophet’s Mosque in Medine, and all mosques across the Kingdom after the Asr prayer.
