A review of the Lagos State approved budget for the 2025 fiscal year has revealed that the Lagos State House of Assembly plans to spend N4.5billion to procure forty 50KVA generators. It is unclear why the House of Assembly is purchasing forty generators, although there are also forty members in the House of Assembly. A previous SaharaReporters' review of the Lagos State budget performance document showed that the State House of Assembly also planned to spend N6.2 billion to buy 40 properties in Lagos and Abuja. The House of Assembly also plans to spend N500 million on the provision of arrival guest houses and residential quarters. The group further alleged that the Speaker approved N200 million for a thanksgiving event at the Lagos State House of Assembly, arguing that it "should not have cost more than N2 million."
